  • Bummer update - please revert

    By Marinette5050 (Pcmac user)

This new update has all the earmarks of user interface designers trying to justify their existence. This app was not broken but apparently someone felt they needed to tinker with it to justify a paycheck, and it has definitely taken a turn for the worse. You need to understand that shopping - especially weekly food shopping- is generally a two step process: 1. make the list, and 2. go to the shop or store and check things off the list as you add them to your cart. Therefore, adding this intrusive ability to add new items to the list while you are also looking at your shopping list is completely unnecessary. I see that the cryptic check mark at the top of the screen has replaced the “clear selected items” option on the menu list. Please put it back on the menu list until people discover what the check mark means, and move Clear List lower in the menu. Note that most reviewer’s have used the adjective “simple” to describe the previous version, and that that is what they liked about it. Maybe add some usability testing to the process?
  • Used to be Simple and Complete

    By Redanzl (Pcmac user)

I’ve used this app since shortly after it came out, and it was part of my routine for years. I liked the simplicity of it. It was easy to make a shopping list from a history list of previously-tracked items, which helped me remember what I might need on my latest shopping trip. I don’t like the way the interface was changed to make the history list slide up from the bottom, because it makes for a clumsy experience of swiping and rearranging of screens. Also, there’s a bug in the Shake To Clear feature where the feature stops working when my phone goes to sleep. I have to go into the settings and toggle the Shake button to get it to work again, only to find that it stopped working again after phone sleep. This was one of my favorite features of the app, so that’s bothersome. All things must pass...
  • Hard to believe you made a great app horrible!

    By kak6154 (Pcmac user)

UPDATE: It is apparent that since the latest version of this once-great program was released, the developer has not once read reviews and comments, or he would have done SOME5ING by now to fix the triad problems. Or, maybe he just doesn’t care. But I have bought a new iPad, primarily to accommodate the VP new version of this program, because I use it so often. No success. If I tap on the settings drop down, it crashes, EACH AND EVERY TIME! I can get half way through my lists and it crashes, EACH AND EVERY TIME! Does Apple ever monitor apps? Apparently, they don’t care that this doesn’t work either. I would have reported a problem through the app, but you can’t as it continuously crashes. PLEASE EVERYONE HAS BEGGED YOU TO FIX THIS APP. IF YOU’RE LISTENING TO YOUR USERS PLEASE DO SO!!! I used to use this app all the time. It was fabulous. Then you screwed it up BIG TIME! Ever hear the phrase, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? Too bad. I’ve never seen such a big mess and I’ve never seen developers pay so little attention to their users. It’s as if you just ignore the users. Good job guys. Time to start looking for a replacement. Thanks.
  • Please fix this app!

    By oliveoil1012 (Pcmac user)

Designers, please use this app and you will see that it needs fixed. Once I add an item to my list, I have to close out of the app and reopen to see my list correctly. When I tap the top of the screen to close the add item menu, it pops up with the change color option or my phone's notification screen. There's no clear way to close that add item menu. If I do get the menu to close without having to close the app, it doesn't show me the bottom of my list, so I have to close the app. This is not user friendly. I agree with many of these other reviews. I've used this app A LOT for a few years, it was great and simple, and now I wish I didn't update it. If only I could go back! It's much harder to use. I've tried to get used to it, but it should work better. It wasn't broken, the previous app layout worked great, now it's just frustrating and I'm shopping around. Please change it back. Thank you.
