  • Minor issues

    By Dead_eye_sam (Pcmac user)

Great app but I am surprised they have not included some basic sports like boxing. I am also confused when I search for an item like banana it brings multiple results with one being of a different size or portion but when I search bananas (with an s) it brings up the one and has in it a way to select size and number. It happens to other search results and may get confusing. It's just a minor organization and consolidation issue. Also not enough using if measurements. Finally, I'm not sure, but I wish there was a units converter in app to help if a product has a different unit than what the app offers like almond breeze milk servings is in cups but in app it is in fluid ounces.
  • Love the app, but they aren't updating

    By anon0913 (Pcmac user)

To the developer, if you're reading this: I hope you will consider updating the app. According to a system message, it will not be supported in iOS 11 and, per a previous message, isn't fully supported in iOS 10. This is, by far, the best app I've found for tracking calories in, calories out, and weight. I love the clean design where it isn't cluttered by all sorts of things I don't care about. I just installed an app I have heard great things about, MyFitnessPal, to see if it would work for me, and it is super bloated and full of prompts and all sorts of extraneous stuff. I just want a -simple- and -clean- app to log my progress. I don't want community interface, articles, ads, etc. the app&Track has been perfect for me, even though the food database doesn't always have what I need since I can just plug in custom numbers that are at least in the ballpark, and if it isn't brought current, I'm going to miss it.
  • Previously over weight person

    By Van8731171 (Pcmac user)

OK. Now I'll rate it at a five again. Now that they fixed the "update". I'll be more careful about when I hit update in future. This is the best calorie counter. Only concern is they might be giving too many burned calories for exercices. After all you burn calories doing nothing and you burn more when you exercise but you have to subtract the doing nothing ones from the exercise ones and I don't think they do it in the app, so you end up giving yourself more credit for exercices than you really earned, double dipping so to speak, and if you eat up to calories burned you could hose yourself on weight loss. I count lowest effort and only credit myself half. I asked once but did not get clear answer about it which is why I don't think they subtract resting calories you'd use anyway from exercise calories. Otherwise I love it.
  • Easy to use, good database

    By Lfreader (Pcmac user)

This app is simple to learn and has really helped me lose weight. The database of foods includes lots of brands, restaurants, and ethnic items. You can report portions as small as 1/8 of a serving and see calories adjust accordingly, define calories for recipes you make frequently, and categorize a mealtime other than the default label. For example, when I eat at 3 pm some days that is my dinner, not afternoon snack, and I can re-assign the default label to say dinner. The ability to customize a profile for your own changing metabolism and exercise is useful, because losing weight over time makes the body resistant. I wish there was more information available about what the Food Score is measuring and what target numbers to shoot for. Other than that, the developers have an excellent FAQ section and kindly answer users' Qs within a couple days.
