  • Worth the money

I enjoy using this app. I think it's good for kanji recognition, not so much for being able to reproduce kanji on paper, but it definitely has improved my reading ability. One issue: some of the characters seem to be missing important readings, and I don't know why that is. The character 為 for instance does not include the reading 「ため」, which I would think is one of the most common readings? This app is otherwise so useful, it would be great if they could improve this issue.

I love this App. I have had it for over ten years and it is the best time killer. I use it to most to learn kanji characters and the stroke orders, as well as vocabulary. Great supplement to anyone looking to study Japanese.

I've come to depend on this app for a long while now. I love the structure of being able to review kanji at regular intervals. I only wish it had a couple features 1 - During some sets of kanji I wish I could see my progress I've made in the group of kanji I'm studying through like a progress bar, a label that says 12 of 25 etc 2 - Use the standard iOS share sheet to export my training data to places other than Dropbox.
  • Brilliantly Conceived, Beautifully Executed

I have downloaded several apps for learning Kanji, and this app Touch is by far the best. Many of the Kanji apps have solid ideas and content, but fall short on user experience. this app Touch was developed with the user in mind. The graphics are stunning, the buttons are easy to touch, and most importantly, the Kanji are taught in a clear and logical way, from multiple aspects: Meaning, pronunciation, stroke order and compounds. This app is particularly effective in partnership with a book called "Remembering the Kanji" by James Heisig. Because of the flexible search features in this app Touch, you can make practice sets that correspond to the presentation of Kanji in the book. The only improvements that come to mind for this app: 1) The ability to create multiple practice sets. 2) The ability to hide the character during stroke order tests. I also own iKana Touch, which I also highly recommend.
