What is Bencao?

Bencao is an app designed for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners and students. It contains detailed information on commonly used herbs and classic formulas, organized by Pinyin, pharmaceutical or English name. The app provides quick access to specific symptoms or syndromes, making it easy to treat according to Differential Diagnosis (DD). Bencao also allows users to save personal notes on each herb or formula and personalize the display according to their preference.

Bencao disappeared off of my wife's new iPhone 7

My wife and I both have this app on our iPhone's for many years and we use it all of the time. We both just got iphone 7 and we restored them from our last backup of our 6S. My this app was on my new phone but it was not on my wife's iPhone. She went to the App Store and it was only for purchase but she already purchased it years ago. Can you please advise how to restore this app on her iPhone.
Needs iPad compatibility

When I bought this app I didn’t realize that it only works in the vertical screen orientation for iPad. This is extremely inconvenient, as a CCM student who uses my iPad as a small computer in the horizontal orientation. I was sincerely hoping to be able to use this app every day and type all my own notes in at the bottom. Please fix this, and then I will rate 5 stars.

A friend at school recently turned me on to this app. I'm so glad she did. It has really changed the way I study herbs. Now when I'm in class, and a teacher mentions a formula, I look it up right away on my iPhone. If there are herbs in the formula that I'm a bit rusty on, I click on those to go right to a screen with info about each single herb. I can even add notes to both single herbs and formulas. Another useful feature is the ability to highlight which formulas are on the CA State Board exam. This will be very helpful for studying purposes. My only complaint is that it's not yet possible to filter/sort formulas based on whether they're on the State Boards, but I emailed the developer about this and he responded promptly and said this would be a feature added in a future version. Fantastic!
