  • Don't trust ecard (& PADI)

    By rich42852 (Pcmac user)

    1. I ordered my ecard and it was in my app for over 2 years and everything is fine... And then I got my deep dive and this app sent me an email to claim my ecard... So I did. I click refresh and now I have 0 cards. Like I lost card while this app is trying to issue me a card. 2. When I was downloading my ecard.. in all of the email body it says ecard. But in the fine print it says a 30 day temporary eCard. What?! So if I didn't see that and later relied on that ecard to be there... I am screwed (just like how I am now this app app lost the eCard) I think the problem is deeper than the APP. In diving we rely on our gear, our knowledge and buddy... Because our lives depend on it. So to me diving you pay the money so things can be dependable.. this just proves that this app not only doesn't have their system together but the fact that they would give you a "trial" ecard to then make you buy it is a really misleading move. I am going to stop getting any more this app certs and go with another non profit.
  • Stuck in the early 00s

    By HLA4 (Pcmac user)

So much potential to complement a great dive experience with a solid digital experience and accompanying app. A dive log should be simple and how great would it be to have dive instructors be able to digitally “sign” a log book these days, letting dive computer data live along side certification Info. Alas, this app is slow, unreliable, requires signing on to a secondary (!?) “ScubaEarth” account and does not function at all without an internet connection- making it useless when in many dive spots. Even with a great internet connection it cannot find known dive shops without going through a full browser interface instead of the clunky app (which, itself, is a poorly rendered version of the web experience vs a well designed and dedicated tool). With the iPhone celebrating 10 years, its past due to say this app has had time to get this right. Zero focus here.
  • Unfortunate execution of a good idea

By Snake Eyes 1 (Pcmac user)

I had a lot of hope for this application and the this app Scuba Earth website, but unfortunately as many have noted in the reviews, the execution remains flawed and cumbersome. Instead of making logging a dive easier than a log book, they have actually made it more difficult. You would also think that when you dive with a "Buddy" in the system the log would show up on their page, it does not, your buddy must also log the dive. Again, the digital world is supposed to make thing easier, more seem less, but this app and website fall way short of that. I hope this app can find a good way ahead in these applications.
  • Disappointing

By Rodney in Ohio (Pcmac user)

There are many apps that one can download and many that can be purchased but this one is one that should be setting the standard for all. this app should be ashamed at this app and it’s poor performance and design. If the first word in your business is professional then that should apply to all aspects of your business. This is far from a professional company’s app. As an organization you need to get your stuff together and make this the premier app for divers. What kind of impression do you think you create for new divers or those we are trying to introduce to the magical world of diving? As much as people know and respect this app they also expect the app that bares the name to be a world class easy to use (anywhere, anytime) with or without internet access.
