What is JapanTaxi?

JapanTaxi is a taxi app that covers all 47 prefectures of Japan with more than 60,000 taxis. It allows users to call a taxi, make a reservation, and find their fare instantly. The app also offers cashless payment options and an airport fixed rate service.

1. Travel smart with our Airport Fixed Rate! The flat rate taxi service is available in selected cities and the fee may vary by participating taxi company.

3. Some taxi companies do not receive drop-off location data or offer advanced reservations or cashless payment options.

4. ・Please check the participating taxi companies and service areas before making an order.

5. As such, some taxi companies may add a Radio Dispatch Fee to your fare total.

6. ・Some of the in-app functions are only available with participating taxi companies.

7. You can customize your order by selecting a drop-off location, a number of vehicles, type of vehicle and payment method.

8. *2 As of August 2019, the following services are available; Apple Pay, credit cards,d payment and Google Pay.

Download and install the JapanTaxi app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

JapanTaxi functions

1. Call a Taxi: Users can select their pickup location, drop-off location, number of vehicles, type of vehicle, and payment method to request a taxi. The app provides an estimated time of arrival when the order matches with a nearby taxi.

2. Make a Reservation: Users can place an order in advance by selecting the date and time and following the same steps as "Call a Taxi."

3. Fare Finder: Users can calculate the estimated fare and travel time by entering their pick-up and drop-off locations. The actual fare may vary depending on traffic, road conditions, and route taken.

4. Airport Fixed Rate: Users can travel smart with the app's airport fixed rate service, which is available in selected cities and may vary by participating taxi company.

5. JapanTaxi Wallet and Cashless Payment Options: Users can link their payment method to their JapanTaxi account and pay their fare seamlessly. The app accepts credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other online payment services.

Note: The app requires network service and GPS, and some taxi companies may add a radio dispatch fee to the fare total. Ride availability depends on the area, weather, and road condition. Has potential to be a great app

So I did a trip to Japan the past couple weeks and this app was useful... at times. It does work despite what some of the comments below say. I think the biggest issue that not enough company’s in Japan are connected with this app as of yet. So when people are looking for a taxi through the app they won’t find one because they aren’t near anywhere that has an this app supporter taxi. I used this app in Tokyo and in Kyoto. I used this is Kyoto and the app worked great for me. Each time I used it I was given an estimated time of when my taxi would arrive, which wasn’t long usually and I could even see a small taxi icon on my map showing where the taxi was in real time. There was at one point where it searched in Kyoto and told me no taxis were available, but then 5 mins later it was able to get me a taxi. I think it just literally was that all the taxis were taken at that time and not a fault of the app. If taxis are full, taxis are full. I only tried to use the app once in Tokyo and it gave me the message that it could not find any taxis in my area and I believe it was the same reason as it was in Kyoto. So I think the app has potential and can be awesome when it works. So I say if your going to Japan it’s worth getting this app because it can work. I think it’ll only get better as time goes on.
I wish we knew about this app sooner!!!

We have been in Tokyo for 5 nights and we just found this app!! We’re from Los Angeles where we use Uber for any and all needed rides, we were lamenting the fact that there is no Uber-like apps UNTIL we found japan taxi. It has been so easy to use, we input our airbnb address and our taxi came, it’s cool that you can pay through the app Thank you for creating this app! I wish we knew about this from the beginning of our trip.
Great app to have for taxi service

Get this app in conjunction to using bus and train. It’s like Lyft in Japan. You drop pin where you want to be picked up then drop destination pin and they will contact the taxi company that’s closest to your pick up destination. You can see where the taxi is at and it’s way to you. It will give you the taxi company and taxi number. After pick up, you will show the driver your order on the app so they can confirm. App is fairly easy to use.
A major flaw in the software: you can't choose a seven-seat car

A major flaw in the software: you can't choose a seven-seat vehicle, and the uber software is free to choose five or seven seats. I need the driver to pick me up from the hotel lobby to the airport. When I enter the name of the hotel, the departure automatically changes to the address. The driver just waits for me by the side of the road in front of the hotel, but does not drive to the hotel lobby on the second floor. I can't text the driver to the hotel lobby on the second floor. There is no driver's phone on the software. I can't contact the driver. The phone on the software is from the taxi company. The line has been busy all the time. The software is really not easy to use.
